Candidates must have passed a minimum 3-year diploma in engineering/technology with at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories). Final year diploma students are also eligible to appear in the entrance exam.

As per BCECEB guidelines, Technical English is qualifying. Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks (at least 35 marks out of 200). English marks do not contribute to your merit rank, but failing English disqualifies your application.
